The Brief
Spice Villa – an established Indian Take-away based in the London suburb of Hampstead approached us to rebrand their company logo and marketing collateral. The takeaway provided high quality contemporary Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine in a relaxed but informal environment.
The business came with a blank canvas in terms of visual brand identity and overall style. Therefore, a brand identity was required that replicated the traditions of Indian / Bangladeshi cooking but still appeared contemporary and classy to the discerning curry lover. Once an identity was finalised, this also had to replicated throughout all marketing materials such as outdoor signage, restaurant menus and promotional leaflets.
The Solution
To conform to the brief, an identity was created that was sympathetic to the traditional symbols and style often found within areas of India and Bangladesh in this case a Mogulesque style building. This traditional symbolism was combined with a classic font in order to bring the identity into the 21st century and to keep it contemporary and high class.
In terms of colour a deep burgundy was used as the main stay with hues of orange and red being used sparingly throughout the design of the logo and marketing material, which represented the colours of spices commonly used in Indian cooking.
The result
Spice Villa’s new identity and marketing collateral resulted in the perception by its existing customers of a contemporary, high quality Indian takeaway that would enticed customers to endulge in new and exciting dishes not often found in more conventional Indian Restaurants.
